The present study focuses on the intersemiotic adaptation of the short story Akhar-e Khat into a video game and examines the narrative, dramatic, and interactive capacities of the work in representing the life of Martyr Ahmad Kazemi. The main question of the research is how, and on the basis of which elements, the story Akhar-e Khat possesses the potential to be transformed into a narrative-driven video game. The significance of this issue lies in the fact that video games, as interactive media, provide the possibility of experiential reconstruction of historical and cultural narratives and can therefore offer a new mode of representing Sacred Defense literature. The study adopts a qualitative approach based on the analysis of narrative structure, characterization, conflict, space, point of view, and ethical themes within the story. The findings indicate that the crisis-centered and suspense-driven narrative structure, multilayered characterization, integration of internal and external conflicts, immersive war atmosphere, and themes such as responsibility, sacrifice, fear, and confrontation with death possess strong potential for transformation into interactive structures within the medium of video games. Furthermore, the first-person point of view and environmental storytelling create the possibility of an experience grounded in participation and perceptual overlap between the player and the character. The results demonstrate that Akhar-e Khat has considerable potential for adaptation into a narrative-oriented video game and can provide a platform for an experiential and non-sloganistic representation of Sacred Defense narratives in digital media.
